There was a time, as many of us well remember, when almost every boy and young man wanted to marry sweet, lovable Gidget.

For decades, it looked like that would have been a wise choice. Pure and innocent, Gidget became a flying nun. Despite that period with Burt Reynolds, she showed her social conscience and grit in movies like “Norma Rae” and “Places in the Heart.”

Then, something went horribly wrong. Sweet little Gidget grew up to become Mary Todd Lincoln. It only shows that no matter how nice a young person may appear, there is no way of knowing what kind of husband or wife they will make.
